Neck labels: the brand label in the back collar
The neck label is the first thing a buyer reads on a garment — the one inside the back collar that carries your brand name from the rack to the repeat order. We weave it on the same looms as your side-seam labels, hem tabs and size tabs, so the trim set matches in yarn, colour and hand-feel.
Neck label or care label?
They sit in different places and carry different information. The neck label carries the brand name and logo and sits inside the back collar. The care label carries composition, wash symbols and country of origin, and sits at the side seam. Most garments use both — and because they are quoted together, one artwork pack covers the pair.
Sizes that work in a collar
Most brand neck labels run about 50 × 20 mm finished (2 × 0.8 in), and any size is cut to spec. What matters is the finished (visible) size — folds add their own allowance on top, so tell us the size you want the buyer to see. How folds change the cut is set out in the Woven label fold guide.
Folds for a neck label
End fold (Manhattan fold) folds the label at both ends before sewing, hiding the raw edges — the classic neck label look. Center fold folds it in half over the seam edge for a symmetrical flag. Flat cut leaves clean cut edges for a modern, evenly sewn-on finish. The fold changes the sewing route, so it is fixed before production.

- Small text can close up if the label is too small for the yarn density.
- Rough cut edges can irritate skin if the fold and edge are not reviewed.
- Color matching should be confirmed against yarn limits, not only screen colors.

What woven label type is best for small text?
Damask woven labels are usually best because finer yarn can hold small text and detailed brand marks better than lower-density weaves.
Can SAIM Label make soft woven labels for kidswear?
Yes. For kidswear and activewear, the quote should specify soft hand feel, label position, fold type and edge requirements.
Can woven labels use recycled yarn?
Recycled polyester yarn can be discussed on request. Certificate scope and validity should be confirmed before final compliance use.
What files should I send for a woven label quote?
Send vector artwork if available, plus finished size, quantity, fold type, application and any color references.
